Hey Y’all, I’m Taiwo Kafilat, the creator of this blog. I’m a Nigerian gyel based in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a disciple of Christ, natural hair enthusiast, vegan foodie, and self-proclaimed candle connoisseur. When I’m not blogging, I try to be a good graduate student. I toggle between being buried in the literature about reform in public education and finding home decor ideas on Pinterest.
You’re probably like me, trying to live the best version of your own life in a way that shows your most authentic and transparent self. I am a firm believer in using our gifts to help others and to live purposefully.
In 2013, I launched a popular blog to document my journey as a kinky-haired naturalista and to add some much-needed representation to the growing natural hair movement. What started out as an interest for healthy natural hair care progressed into a passion for wellbeing, intentionality, and spiritual freedom.
I created this blog to fuse my roles as both encourager + educator. Through this space, I provide practical insight into plant-based eating, holistic natural hair care, and living well through the word of God. I hope that you will find pages of depth and inspiration as you explore my blog.
